If you have your taxes paid through your mortgage's escrow and you pay off your mortgage, it is YOUR responsibility to notify the Allegheny County Assessment Office in order to have your tax bills sent directly to you instead of your mortgage company.
Often, the mortgage company does not notify the county that your mortgage is paid in full. Therefore, subsequent tax bills do not get forwarded to your home address, resulting in penalties and delinquency.
Also, if you move or have a change of mailing address, again it is YOUR responsibility to notify Allegheny County Assessment Office of this change.
